ITpreneurs acquires Agilità: Providing content leadership in the Best Practices marketplace


April 1, 2006 - ITpreneurs, the leading content company in the domain of IT management and governance best practice frameworks, acquires Agilità effective April 2006.

This acquisition will strengthen ITpreneurs position as a global leader in content development and provision for the ITSM, IT Governance and IT security domains.
With the majority of the fortune 2000 companies using or planning to use ITIL, COBIT and IT best practices, the IT best practices training, consulting and software market place is expanding at a fierce pace. The IT Governance and IT Service Management sectors are growing, driven by:

Abbey comes to Agilità as an ITSM consultant with over twenty years experience in IT. Abbey’s areas of expertise include facilitation of strategic planning, to assist executives to align their ITSM program to enable corporate objectives, and in the program management of large scale initiatives, to enable the transformation and cultural change required when moving to a process-based organization. She brings to Agilità’s clients many years of experience in leading ITIL process design development and the delivery of ITSM training, in both the private and public sectors.

Abbey has been ITIL Service Manager Level certified since the year 2000, and has been active in the ITIL community for many years through her early involvement with the itSMF Canada national chapter and her participation as a speaker at numerous ITSM industry events.

Abbey, the person…..
With over 20 years of IT experience, covering many different industries, Abbey brings to Agilità’s client base considerable expertise in ITSM process development, design, training and activation approaches.
Her career began at Canada Systems Group, a large IT Service Provider firm, delivering service sourcing solutions to many key industry clients. While there, she lived the IT operations life directly, giving her a unique understanding of the management requirements and challenges associated with delivery of quality IT services.
She then worked with the Ontario Government’s central service provider organization. This organization was responsible for the delivery of IT services to all the ministries, boards and agencies across the Province of Ontario in Canada. In this organization, Abbey was coordinating operations of the network division and managing large network upgrade projects, moving eventually into the management of the business processes themselves as part of a large scale project to implement the corporate Enterprise System Management platform and the activation of the supporting ITIL processes.

In 1999, Abbey joined Hewlett-Packard Canada, where she was actively involved in the delivery of ITSM solutions. Her clients have included many private sector industry verticals - telecommunications, utility, manufacturing, financial, IT sourcing service providers. She continued to apply her public sector vertical expertise across federal, provincial and municipal levels of government, in various ITSM engagements.
Abbey is committed to the successful delivery of total solutions to Agilità’s client base, achieved through respect for the management of change issues involved in the resulting integration of people, process and technology.
Agilità Principal Acknowledged for BS 15000 Implementation in India

Agilità Director of Service management and Consulting Practice Principal, K.S. Franklin has been recognized by Wipro for his contribution to their BS 15000 certification program.

WIPRO has conducted probably the largest and most comprehensive BS 15000 certification in the world to date. The scope of the certification covers both internal and external IT Service Management practices. It includes IT Infrastructure Service Management for external clients, provided by the Global Command Centre (GCC) in Bangalore, covering the following services:- Monitoring, Administration, Diagnostics, Performance, Analysis and Reporting" as well as Provision of IT Infrastructure Management, Service Support and IT Project Management required for in-house / On site users engaged in Software Services Business.

The project involves the work of tens of thousands of Wipro employees and is considered to be a watershed for the IT Industry in India and indeed worldwide. Wipro CIO, Mr. Tamal Dasgupta awarded the certificate of achievement to K.S. Franklin in “recognition of his leadership towards Wipro’s effort in achieving BS 15000 certification.” The certification was performed by DNV.

Agilità announced that two highly talented professionals joined Agilità in April, 2005.

Silvia Prickel
Silvia joined as a Practice Principal based in Chicago in the USA and K.S. Franklin Somu joined as Director of Consulting and Practice Principal based in Bangalore, India.

K S Franklin

Agilità opens new office in India

In December the first plans for an office in India were submitted. In April, the registration and inauguration were complete. The offices at R-7 Haus Khas in New Delhi, will house the Indian HQ, while Agilità staff will also work remotely in other cities such as Mumbai and Bangalore.

Alan Nance, President and Managing Director of Agilità, explains the significance of an Indian office. “We believe that we are on the verge of the Asian Century. India and China as the new economic powers are already in ascendancy. We are here to assist our Indian customers as they lead that transformation but also to learn what we believe will be new ways of working in our industry. The Indian executive buyer is one of the most critical in the world. They are highly educated, lead an intelligent low-cost/high-value workforce.
